Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Day 2: Fort Portal City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on our journey to Fort Portal, a city known for its breathtaking landscapes and cultural heritage. The drive takes approximately 7 hours, offering scenic views of Uganda’s countryside. Arriving in Fort Portal, we will enjoy lunch at the Gardens Restaurant, followed by a visit to the Amabeere Caves, where you can admire the stunning natural rock formations and learn about the local folklore surrounding them.

Next, we will explore the Semuliki Hot Springs, known for their unique geothermal activity, before concluding the day with a tour of the traditional palace in Fort Portal. As the day winds down, we will head to Kibale Forest National Park, the “Primate Capital of the World,” where we will spend the night at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge.

The drive to the park takes about 2 hours, and upon arrival, we will embark on a game drive through the park, observing the diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species.

In the afternoon, we will enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, where you can expect to see hippos lounging in the water and numerous bird species lining the shores. This is a perfect opportunity for photography and observing wildlife up close.

As the sun sets, we will head to Twin Lakes Tour Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation, reminiscing about the day’s adventures.

On this day, we will explore the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. An early morning game drive will offer the chance to spot these incredible animals as they lounge in the branches of fig trees, basking in the sun. We will also keep an eye out for other wildlife such as elephants, Uganda kobs, and a variety of bird species.

After a thrilling morning, we will return to our lodge for lunch and a bit of relaxation. Later in the afternoon, we will enjoy a leisurely drive through the park before heading back to our accommodation at Ishasha Jungle Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The drive will take around 3 hours. Upon arrival, we will check into the Buhoma Community Rest Camp and prepare for the unforgettable experience of gorilla tracking.

After a briefing from park rangers, we will venture into the dense forest, where we may spend anywhere from half an hour to several hours tracking these magnificent creatures. The moment you encounter a family of mountain gorillas is indescribable—a rare and profound connection with nature.

In the evening, we will have the opportunity to visit the Batwa community, where you can learn about their traditional ways of life and the cultural significance of the forest to their heritage.
