Queen Elizabeth and Kyambura safari day by day
4 nights at Mweya Safari Lodge or Buffalo Safari Lodge, with return road transfers from Kampala or Entebbe. Meals are provided as specified in your confirmed quotation.
Kampala or Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, meet your BLS Safaris driver guide and travel southwest towards Queen Elizabeth National Park . Pass through towns, farmland and changing countryside, with a lunch stop along the route.
Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, check in and settle into your room. Spend the rest of the day relaxing after the drive. Your guide will confirm arrangements for the following morning's game drive.
Kasenyi Game Drives and Crater Lake Visit
Rise early for your first game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Watch for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs and other antelopes. Your guide will also search promising areas for lions and leopards.
Return to the lodge for a rest before lunch. In the afternoon, continue exploring the Kasenyi Plains, watching grazing herds and checking the surrounding grassland for predators.
Include a visit to a suitable crater lake during the afternoon outing. Stop to enjoy the volcanic scenery and views across the park before returning to your lodge in the evening.
Kyambura Gorge Chimpanzee Trekking
Have an early breakfast and travel to Kyambura Gorge for your chimpanzee trekking experience . Meet your ranger guide for the briefing before descending into the forested gorge.
Follow the trails beneath the canopy, listening for calls and watching for signs of the chimpanzees. Your guide will also help identify other primates, birds, trees and smaller forest life along the route.
If the chimpanzees are located, watch them feeding, grooming, resting or moving through the trees. Follow your ranger's instructions throughout the encounter. Sightings are not guaranteed.
Climb back out of the gorge and return to your lodge for lunch. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the surroundings after the morning walk.
Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Cruise
After breakfast, head out for another morning game drive. Your guide will select tracks according to wildlife movements, exploring a different area or returning to a promising location.
Watch for elephants moving between feeding areas, buffaloes gathering in herds and antelopes grazing on the plains. Return to the lodge for lunch before your afternoon Kazinga Channel boat safari .
Cruise along the channel connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. Watch hippos in the water and Nile crocodiles along the banks. Look for elephants and buffaloes near the shoreline, and scan for pelicans, kingfishers, fish eagles and other waterbirds.
Return to your lodge after the cruise and enjoy your final evening in the Queen Elizabeth area.
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast, check out and begin the return drive to Kampala or Entebbe. Travel through the countryside with a lunch stop and comfort breaks along the route.
Continue to your agreed accommodation, or Entebbe International Airport when your flight schedule allows. Your 5 day Queen Elizabeth and Kyambura safari ends on arrival.
