After breakfast, leave Nairobi and drive south to Amboseli National Park. The journey takes around 4 to 5 hours, depending on the road and traffic as you leave Nairobi. As you travel towards Amboseli, the scenery gradually changes from the busy outskirts of Nairobi to the open landscapes of southern Kenya. Arrive in the Amboseli area around lunchtime, have lunch and check in at your lodge. In the afternoon, head into the park for your first game drive. The open plains are a good place to look for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and other wildlife. On a clear day, Mount Kilimanjaro rises beyond the park, creating a memorable backdrop as you continue through the afternoon. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an evening of rest.

Start the day early with another game drive in Amboseli while the morning is still cool. This is a good time to look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and other wildlife moving across the plains. On a clear morning, you may also get another beautiful view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to your lodge for breakfast before checking out and setting off towards the Maasai Mara National Park. It is a long road journey of around 7 to 8 hours, so settle in and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel across Kenya. Stop for lunch along the way before continuing towards the reserve. Arrive in the Maasai Mara later in the afternoon, check into your camp or lodge and take some time to relax after the journey ahead of the following day's full safari.

Today is a full day in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, with plenty of time to follow the wildlife and explore different parts of the reserve. Set off early when the morning is cool and animals are active. Your guide will take you across the Mara's open grasslands, following the best sightings of the day. You may come across lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and many other animals as you move through the reserve. You can stay out for a full-day game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve, giving you more time to reach areas farther from your camp. Alternatively, return to camp for lunch and rest before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. As the day comes to an end, return to your accommodation for your final night in the Mara.

After breakfast, check out and set off from the Maasai Mara for Nairobi. The drive takes around 5 to 6 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic as you approach the city. Stop for lunch along the way before continuing towards Nairobi. You should arrive later in the afternoon or early evening, depending on the pace of the journey. On arrival in Nairobi, you can be dropped off at your hotel or continue with your onward travel arrangements. This marks the end of your 5-Day Amboseli and Maasai Mara Safari.
